Kari, which picture are you asking about? Most of the time when 2 sticks are glued side-by-side there is another stick running across them.

Paula, we used a brown stain pen that we purchased at Michaels to dye the sticks brown. You can also just buy brown (Cherry Stain) sticks and skip the dyeing step. Here's a link to the Cherry Stain sticks: www.craftysticks.com/Jumbo-Craft-Sticks-Cherry-Stain_p_89.html

Sally, please see the above post from May 28 for more information on the adventure picture frame. We also used bakers twine to make a hanger for the frame.
