One 9" Dia. Embroidery Hoop Set (or whichever size you prefer)
Cardboard Scrap
The photos in this article are only for inspiration. Step by step instructions are below.
Step One:
Paint your sticks. Trust me it's A LOT EASIER to paint your sticks first :0)
Step Two:
Glue paint sticks to the bottom of the trash can. Use a hot glue gun to adhere your paint sticks around the outside of the embroidery hoop, one by one.
Step Three:
Glue paint sticks to the top of the trash can. Take your time to slide the larger of the two embroidery hoops inside the top of the trash can and then add a small squirt of hot glue to each slat between the slat and the embroidery hoop.
Important Note:
You'll need to remove the metal piece from the embroidery hoop before you begin this step. Of you have two sets of hoops you can use the two inside pieces that do not have the hardware.
Step Four:
Make the bottom of the trash can. Grab some scrap cardboard, trace the bottom of your can, cut out the cardboard circle, use your hot glue gun to glue the cardboard circle to the bottom of the can.
Voila! That's it! Place your beautiful new trash can somewhere in your beautiful living space.

Hi! Hope everything is well! I’m really wanting to make this trash can- I just love it!
My question is how many paint sticks will it take to make it? I tried to count them and I’m seeing about 20 sticks but not sure and I need to know how to get- I’m wanting to make three of them! And my other question is do the paint stores give out that many or will I have to buy them? Thanks in advance!
